- At one time called 'Round Earth' I have recently (post-sale) re-named it "What Shall We Do With The Children" as I have suddenly realized that a principal theme in my work is the betrayal of children. Some days I want to shout out to the kids: Wake up! You are it! You're the very reason for the future, and you're being sacrificed! It seems a colossal irony that so many are losing themselves and dying of drug abuse when they should be united in the demand for a future -- for a healthy planet.
- The upside-down children at the top were inspired by a photograph taken by a friend's son who had spent some time in social work in Nepal. Whenever he took a bath in his small cabin the window would be packed with children's faces watching the strange phenomenon of pale skin from the other side of the world.
- In the lower half the arrival of a new child is obviously a somwhat awkward and puzzling intrusion.
